In Gaeta there are many churches of Byzantine origin, Romanesque and Gothic that are worth a visit.
- In the historical center: the Temple of San Francesco with its bell tower Arabic; Sanctuary of the Annunciation with the Golden Chapel full of paintings, the cathedral of St. Erasmo with the Diocesan Museum; also many small deconsecrated churches
- Moving to the second part of the city called Elena, are the ancient churches of “St. Giacomo” and “St. Cosmo e Damiano”, famous in August for the procession in the sea.
- In the upper part of the town there is the Sanctuary of SS. Trinity or the Split Mountain. On top of Monte Orlando there is the mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus.
From the port of Formia (8 km from Gaeta) you can reach the small islands of Ponza and Ventotene. You can also visit the small island of Gavi, the green Zannone, which is part of the National Park of Circeo, Palmarola haven for migratory birds and for those who love the noisy silence of the sea and nature.
A few miles from Gaeta, you can visit the Villa of Tiberius in Sperlonga, and the Temple of Jupiter in Terracina.
